By far the easiest route to our property is by ferry. Brittany Ferries offer us the best route from Portsmouth, just an hour away in the car, to Caen which is an easy 2 hour drive from Les Closhuis the other side. The crossing takes roughly 7 hours so we can be at the house fairly quickly. 

We enrolled in Brittany Ferries' Club Voyage loyalty programme and benefit from some great savings on selected sailings with little perks like complimentary cabins and discounts on breakfast and meals.

In the future there is a possibility that a flight route will open up from Southampton to Rennes which is only an hour form the house - watch this space!

We are using hotels when we travel to France. We find them easy to book before we travel and they offer a good base for when we're there. They also offer comfortable accommodation before an early return sailing on the ferry.
